Following on from the Austrians, the second half of the commission was to paint a unit of Prussian dragoons. These are a marked contrast from the previous batch of Front rank figures being they were Perry figures and as per usual these took forever to clean up.
I always get really frustrated when I receive a batch of Perry Metals, firstly disentangling them from that horrible fibrous packing crap that gets stuck to every nibble and knobble of metal, which seem so numerous on this brand. Then you get to the cleaning which seems to pass more hours than befits the figure. Horses seem to be the worst culprit with mould lines running down the muzzle, misaligned rumps, great globs of molten metal between every leg joint and runoffs and knobbles in the most unlikely places. Often I find a good amount of single malt aids the pain of cleaning these, but over consumption does not aid the eyesight finding all the excess bits of metal. That's it rant over till next time.
I was given carte blanche to choose the unit so I went with the 6th as they have the unusual facing colour of rose pink, which contrasts rather nicely with the brighter blue of the dragoon uniform. My first task was to make three quick conversions as the command figures were missing and I had only been supplied standard troopers, so a sash was made for one, another was given a standard and some wire and milliput fashioned a trumpeter.
The last thing remaining for the commission was three Prussian Officers / ADCs these are single part castings of horse and rider.
Thank you all for stopping by and taking a look.

"Kirke's Lambs"
A long time ago I offered to paint some figures for a friend, thankfully he understands me well enough and never put any pressure on me to rush these.. He kindly supplied me with a paint scheme that he wanted me to use and so I set about completing his version of Kirke's Lambs.
I will apologise in advance for the quality of the images my camera once again decided to be temperamental.
The command group.
The Pike.
The Grenadiers.
Then Musketeers.
Finally, he also asked me to paint 6 cavalry figures as an extra.
The figures are all un-based as my good friend requested due to his uncertainty as to using round or square bases. Either way he will have a comprehensive force for using and playing Donnybrook with now.

What has kept Loki busy these last months Part 2
Lets continue the catch up with some more work for EMP games.
First up are some rather fetching crabmen.
then we have some scythed beasts.
Last up for this particular set of figures is the King Crab..
Sticking with the Fantasy / Sci-fi side of things then we I had some new female troopers in full body armour, rather more practical than the usual breast and loin protectors usually seen..
I will wrap this post up here as it nicely brings me to a conclusion on the updates for EMP games ranges.

28mm War of the Spanish Succession 28's.
After my current spondylosis flare up, I needed to paint something to check if my eyesight had returned to normal.
I did not want to be working on stuff when I could not see what I was doing.
So I did these..
28mm WSS French Guards by Ebor and the very talented Mr Hicks.
These are now on Ebay.
They have served their purpose and I'm now back at the workbench with Greenstuuf and paintbrushes at the ready.
Painted with Mostly Foundry and CDA acrylics.
Bases by Warbases.
Oh!
and a big thanks to Andy (Loki) for putting up with my whinging for the last month as I could not get to my workbench.
