Napoleonic and English Civil War
I agreed to fit a small addition alongside all the work we had on hand back in March, because a new client approached me who had purchased the Austrian Hussars from their original owner, who has decided he no longer wants Front Rank figures in his collection. The new customer wanted the unit expanded to 16 figures from its original 12. They took a little longer than my estimated timescale, due to the run up to Salute and other commitments that seemed to swallow more time than intended, add to that a large last minute addition from EMP games and timing went awry somewhat.
Thankfully I have been keeping meticulous notes for the last 18 months on everything different that I paint, just for such an occasion. The original unit can be seen HERE.
Last week also saw me working on a regular clients English Civil War collection, providing him with some figures to complete his existing units.
First up we have three officers, painted according to the clients notes provided.
Then a group of musketeers in a variety of colours, the figure on the left was requested to be dressed in dark tones to look like a grizzled veteran.
The final group of figures in this batch were to be painted as additions for the white coat regiment we had painted earlier for him.
Well good reader that's all I have for this week, so thank you for taking the time to visit.

28mm Polish Renaissance Pancerni
My painting time is limited now due to the time I have to spend on the greenstuff.
I only paint for a few choice customers.
This is the first part of a Polish Renaissance Army, a new commission for an Aussie customer.
Two units of Twelve Pancerni Cavalry.
These are fairly large 28mm by TaG (the assault group).
Lots more to follow.
Enjoy..
Painted to Regular standard (with a few enhancements) by Kev

"What's Kev been up to?"
Hi all.
Sorry it's been a while.
So what have I been doing whilst Andy has been holding the fort.
Well I have had some health issues and not been as active as I would like to have been.
But I have not been completely useless for the last few months.
I have been busy on the green stuff as well as doing a bit of painting.
I am now booked for all this year with sculpting and painting and I think Andy is about the same with his painting schedule.
It's nice to be busy again and able to actually do something.
Andy has kept Brigantes rolling along with some excellent paint jobs over the last few months, but now it's my urn to make a contribution.
Here are a few pics of some recent greens and some WIP Greens (sorry I still take crap pictures)
At the end of the pics is the little treat from what will be our first foray into our own range of mini's.
All of the above are for Warbases.
Sorry it's been a while.

Below are a WIP for a New ACW range for a current manufacturer.
All are 18mm foot to eye.
They are a little chunky on purpose as the mould making procedure of master mould and then production mould thins the figure each time.
All of the above are still a WiP.

Napoleonic Prussian 6th dragoons, and Prussian commanders
Following on from the Austrians, the second half of the commission was to paint a unit of Prussian dragoons. These are a marked contrast from the previous batch of Front rank figures being they were Perry figures and as per usual these took forever to clean up.
I always get really frustrated when I receive a batch of Perry Metals, firstly disentangling them from that horrible fibrous packing crap that gets stuck to every nibble and knobble of metal, which seem so numerous on this brand. Then you get to the cleaning which seems to pass more hours than befits the figure. Horses seem to be the worst culprit with mould lines running down the muzzle, misaligned rumps, great globs of molten metal between every leg joint and runoffs and knobbles in the most unlikely places. Often I find a good amount of single malt aids the pain of cleaning these, but over consumption does not aid the eyesight finding all the excess bits of metal. That's it rant over till next time.
I was given carte blanche to choose the unit so I went with the 6th as they have the unusual facing colour of rose pink, which contrasts rather nicely with the brighter blue of the dragoon uniform. My first task was to make three quick conversions as the command figures were missing and I had only been supplied standard troopers, so a sash was made for one, another was given a standard and some wire and milliput fashioned a trumpeter.
The last thing remaining for the commission was three Prussian Officers / ADCs these are single part castings of horse and rider.
Thank you all for stopping by and taking a look.
